i just talked to a lady at the BLM Eugene district about Shotgun OHV park and she said YES to the offroad tag so i think jeepers is the only one that doesnt have one.
and she also said that they only have 1 trail open to class II vehicles but that trail is about a mile and1/2 long and there is a rock crawl segment at the beginning i think and she said a challenging hill climb towards/at the end.
it sounds fun but i dont know about just one trail. is there another park nearby we could hit if we finish the trail in 30 minutes? i'll check...
well i called the BLM again and talked to liz,
she says that the OOHVA site is privately managed and is not part of the BLM.
she didnt know what OHV #30 was and #31 is class I and III only.
i emailed the owner of the site inquiring of #30 and hopefully will hear back from him.
she also said that there is a suislaw branch of the BLM that has an "un official" ohv play area on the west side of I-5, i say un official because she said they had no control over it and it was just a word of mouth place, no maps or anything.
however i do not know how far this is from shotgun.
open to suggestions...

I am thinking Browns camp due to its huge size and it aint that much of a difference as far as distance just the other direction.

I talked to the foret grove forest office and they said browns camp is about 30% open the closures are due to timber sales and trail maint.if it is 30 % of what i was on back in 01 it would be sufficient for a 1 day trip.

did he say what the majority of trails were?
shotgun is pretty sufficient in size for a day trip but more than 90% of the trails there are for class I and III only
that pretty much nixes out shotgun forever unless we are passing through or have a place nearby to hit also
did he say anything about trask or jordan creek?
browns camp would be my first choice though!

I'm with Beth, if we can't find a suitable place to go, then lets just head back up and hit the snow one more time! I'm sure there's plenty of fresh stuff meow

I'm open. And I think anywhere we decide to go, browns, shotgun.... there will be plenty of snow. I'm for Browns. And I'll get permit anyway.
