So I am just starting to get back in shape and hiking every Sunday and I hope to be able to get out and do a few backpack trips this summer.
So I thought I would see if any of shoes guys are into hiking and backpacking

I was gonna ask the same thing! Hell yeah dudes i'm all up for that. I also do a bit of rock climbing, but don't really have any gear besides a chalk bag. I think we should try to make this its own division.

So I did the 7.2 mile loop at Silver Falls with two friends and that was my first time and it took us 2hrs 15min I think we were moving a bit fast. and we are doing a hike every Sunday if shoes would like to show up We will be doing a hike on the Opal Creek trail the weekend of July 12-13 and it is a 7.1 mile and 300ft gain and since it will be the first time for my friend with a pack I picked a easy hike and give her time to get some gear and find what it is like packing. So if any of shoes have what shoes need for a two day hike shoes are welcome to go with us (us being my wife & I and a friend & her boy friend) so the two of us guys are the one's who have been packing before not the girls for the most part. Oh yeah I have some of my climbing gear still. My cell 503-686-8984 Travis

and maybe the Mckenzie River trail 26.5 mile w/1800ft gain on the Aug 16-17th

That sounds cool, I might do one or both of those. What kind of climbing gear do shoes have? Ever been to Smith Rock?

No I have not been climbing for about 3 years and that was back in Cali, I just looked and I gave my friend (climbing partner) more stuff than I thought all my cams, nuts & slings so most of my rack is back in Cali

Wow, shoes did traditional climbing? I took 2 courses on the rock wall in college, and a weekend at Smith, but it was all sport climbing. We learned how to place gear, but I have NO confidence to do that yet. Can barely bring myself to lead:) And how come we're the ONLY ONES on here posting? I know Wingnut is busy...um...singing, but jumpin' Jesus Christ and all the Prophets, where's everyone else?

Cool I like Trad but out here there is not much worth climbing after climbing in Yosemite for a few years,
And I will be moving to Bend in a month
