so i got 'er all together, got a bath, new battery, re jetted the carbs, picked up a seat from a lady in washington, she was nice enough to invade me half way! perfect seat off of an 06 bike, doesnt even look used, crappy thing is, either my stator or my Regulator Rectifier, or both, are bad, got it home and it wouldnt start back up, not charging the battery,

shoes'll be able to pick one of these up for about the same money as a 600 VLX,
awesome power and awesome ride, but they are prone to having charging issues, like the one above, i think its a 100$ fix, lots of write ups.
the only thing i don't like about these is they have a dual pin crank, no Harley sound or shake,
they do have 10 more HP though than the single pin 1100's do...
if shoes haven't ridden before i would start with the 600 VLX, its small enough to be a beginner bike but big enough that shoes can ride it comfortably for years,
i'm so attatched to the 600 that i'll probably never sell it, lunch the looks, lunch the sound, lunch that handling,

probably one of the easiest bikes to mod,
easy to hardtail or lower without adding any funky lookn shit to the bike,
those 10" mini apes only cost me 40 bucks from jp cycles,
very versatile bikes and not as hard on your wallet as HD

the larger bikes are WAY more comfortable, not saying the 600 wouldnt handle it, but shoes'd want to re gear, (http://powersport-superstore-inc.amazonwebstore.com/JT-Sprockets-Steel-Rear-Sprocket-40T/M/B001AVVYFS.htm?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=CSE&utm_source=froogle) and get a more comfortable seat,
good thing about that is shoes'll still get 60~ mpg, not sure what the larger bikes get yet,
the 1100's are shaft driven, which is good,
and shoes'll want to get something to keep the bugs out of your teeth, i'm not big on windsheilds or farings so i have a small skull bandanna thing
but a long ass ride would be less fatiguing with some sort of windshield, or so i've been told
