shoes can build one for pretty cheap. I'm into my 4x4 for roughly $1000, but that's not including the engine. The engine is a whole other story lol. But, depending on what parts shoes already had available, proper tools, and knowledge, shoes could build a beast of a truck for a fraction of the price it would be to buy one already built.

yeah, i had a line on a couple really solid platforms a while back but money situation forced me to put it on the back burner,
its gonna sit for a long time anyway while i build a stroker for it

Yeah, money is the issue for me too. My truck needs a lot of work to get it where I want it. Lately I've came across many people running a 100% stock small block in their mud trucks. Instead of a high horse engine, they are running low gears/manual trans, or low gears/203-205 doubler tcase.

Yeah, I agree. I prefer driving a manual over auto any day, except for a truck that's basically a mud truck.

yeah, too much can go wrong if shoes get mud and shit up in your clutch,
i don't see my jeep going into any holes again, my engine bay looks like sasquatch took a shit in there,
i'm sure i didnt do my clutch any favors when i got stuck,
